Srinagar, May 16: The International footballer of the Valley, Mehraj-ud-Din Wadoo, Saturday said he was keen to promote the sports activities in Kashmir. Speaking at the prize distribution function of state arm-wrestling championship at Islamia College, he said, “I’m a footballer, but I want to promote other games also. I know about arm wrestling through movies and had not imagined that it is being played in the Valley.” Wadoo stressed on need of upgrading the sports infrastructure and facilities in the valley. “J&K Government needs to upgrade infrastructure and facilities for sports. There is an urgent need to give special attention towards sports and it is only after that our players can shine at national level,” he said.
