Srinagar, May 27: Fozia Majeed won the annual Islamia College women’s cross-country run held from Nishat garden to Fore Shore Road Park, here, on Wednesday. 46 students participated in the event. Sabreena of first year finished second while Nowsheen of second year finished third. Sobiya Yaqoob and Asma Baba finished fourth and fifth respectively. Farhat Jan, Inam Sabha, Bisma Khurshid, Huda and Iqra bagged sixth to tenth positions respectively. The prize distribution ceremony was held at Foreshore Road Park in which position holders were awarded. Speaking on the occasion, the college principal, Dr Saleem Khan said, “I’m delighted to see girls participating in the event in large numbers. Though the number is far less than boy’s event but still is better than last year.” The first three position holders will represent college in the inter-college cross-country run on June 7.
